Jeremiah 1:11-12
The word of the LORD came to me: ‘What do you see, Jeremiah?’

One of the prerequisites for ministry and leadership is to see which is the ability to perceive, understand, and discern. Seeing is crucial, as it enables you to minister effectively and make informed decisions.

Here are ten keys to developing and enhancing your ability to see:

  1. You must be born again and filled with the Holy Spirit; otherwise, you cannot see from a spiritual perspective (John 3:3).
  2. You must be immersed in God’s love and grace to see as He does. A hardened heart leads to spiritual blindness (Mark 8:1).
  3. Overcome past baggage and emotional wounds; otherwise, these filters can distort your perception (Joshua 5:8).
  4. Maintain purity of heart and desires, as sincere hearts are illuminated by divine light (Psalm 112:4). Avoid being driven by ambition, as it can lead to imaginative distortions.
  5. Ground yourself in God’s Word and understand how His kingdom operates, enabling you to discern the right solutions (Psalm 119:105).
  6. Foster an intimate relationship with the Father and cultivate reverence for the Lord (Proverbs 9:10; Psalm 50:23). Reverence produces revelation!
  7. Embrace insights from all five-fold ministries, as each offers a unique perspective on God and His kingdom (Ephesians 4).
  8. Pay special attention to input from apostles and prophets, as they possess revelatory gifts (1 Corinthians 2:10; Amos 3:7). Apostles provide broader perspectives, while prophets unveil hidden truths and specifics. Engaging with the prophetic realm, such as through prophetic churches, prophets, or prophetic training schools, can activate your seer abilities (night visions, day visions and inner visions).
  9. Connect with spiritual fathers and mentors who can guide you through the process of developing your ability to see, drawing from their experience.
  10. Seek guidance through prayer and ask the Father to enlighten the eyes of your heart so that you may grasp the hope of His calling and the riches of His inheritance among His people (Ephesians 1:18).”
