Malachi 4:5:

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD. And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the HEARTS OF THE CHILDREN to their fathers. Otherwise, I will come and strike the land with a CURSE.”…

The evidence of genuine biblical ministry is always unity, honour, and commitment among generations and toward God, His house, and His mission.

If a minister’s impact results in rebellion, division, or isolation, that minister is likely operating from a wrong or wounded spirit. Ministers who only preach commitment to God but not to the house of God are in error. Commitment to the house of God does not mean being a slave but actively participating as a family member, being equipped for God’s purposes.

Ministers who don’t emphasize commitment to the house of God may themselves not be part of or committed to a church, and you can’t give what you don’t possess. Ministers who speak against commitment, whether through their words or lifestyle, may unwittingly release curses and it is risky to invite such ministers!

For those seeking a church, don’t expect perfection; no church is perfect, especially when you are a part of it 😉. Instead, seek out healthy ones with the following characteristics:

  1. Where Jesus is the Centre.
  2. Where the entirety of God’s Word is preached and not just selective portions.
  3. Where there is a balance of Word and Spirit, with demonstrations and activation of healing, deliverance, miracles, and the prophetic.
  4. Where the church and its leadership are rooted in love and grace, creating a safe and welcoming environment.
  5. Where leadership is plural, embracing a team ministry approach as no one has all the gifts and abilities.
  6. Where individuals are built up, enabling personal growth and purpose fulfilment.
  7. Where the culture of the Kingdom is nurtured and exhibited, emphasizing love, faith, trust, honour, and generosity.
  8. Where the church is both inward and outward-focused, building up people, the house, reaching new souls, and actively engaging in society to advance the Kingdom.
  9. Where there is church discipline when sin or wrongdoing occurs, carried out with wisdom and biblical principles, and avoiding a judgmental attitude.
  10. Where there is a balance between order and freedom, love and truth, and a sense of being part of a family and an army.
